Does our company need a one-off AI visibility report or a monthly subscription?

“Who offers a one-off AI visibility report instead of a monthly subscription?”
Many marketing teams ask this before they spend anything. They want to know what ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews say about their company. But they do not want to sign up for another monthly tool before they know if the topic matters to them.
That is a fair starting point. A one-off report and continuous tracking answer different questions. This article explains when each one makes sense, what a free checker can and cannot tell you, and how Avisible offers both.
The short answer
Avisible recommends this order:
- Do not trust a single AI answer. AI answers change from one round to the next, so one answer from one system is a sample of one.
- Start with a one-off report when you do not yet know whether AI names you, when you need a baseline, when the budget is limited, or when you need proof for management.
- Move to continuous tracking when the picture keeps moving: answers vary, AI models update, you make fixes, and competitors change.
- Do not choose one forever. A common path is a one-off report first, then tracking once you start fixing things.
Why one AI answer proves little
Free AI visibility checkers are a good way to get curious. Most of them ask an AI system a question and show you the answer. The problem is that AI answers change. Ask the same question three times and you can get three different lists of brands.
In Avisible’s measurements, Google AI Overviews gave the same text in all three rounds for 94 of 95 questions. ChatGPT and Gemini varied from round to round for the same company. So one answer from one system is a sample of one. It can make you look strong or invisible by chance.
A useful measurement asks many buyer questions, repeats each one, and covers more than one AI system. That is the minimum for a result you can act on or show to management.
When a one-off report is the right choice
A one-off report gives you a clear picture at one point in time. It fits these situations.
- First look. You do not yet know whether AI names you at all, or in which questions. A first measurement tells you if there is a problem worth working on.
- Before a strategy or a rebrand. A baseline helps you plan, and later shows what changed.
- Limited budget. A fixed price with no commitment is easier to approve than a new subscription.
- Proof for management. A report with clear numbers and bases (“named in X of Y answers”) helps you show the issue and get resources to fix it.
One client put it this way: “The project came at exactly the right time during our strategic planning process. It sparked valuable ideas.” (Sanna Laaksonen, CCO, Hurtta Global Oy)
A one-off report should also tell you what to do next. In one hotel Snapshot, Avisible listed eight quick wins that took 30 to 60 minutes each.
When continuous tracking is the right choice
A report is a photo. Tracking is a video. You need the video when the picture keeps moving.
- Answers change. As shown above, ChatGPT and Gemini do not give the same answer every time. A trend over weeks is more reliable than a single run.
- AI models update. A new model version can change which sources the system reads and which brands it names.
- You have made fixes. After you change your website, listings or content, you want to see whether AI picks up the change, and when.
- Competitors move. A competitor can publish new pages or get new reviews. Tracking shows when they start to appear in questions where you used to be named.
- You report weekly or monthly. If AI visibility is part of your marketing KPIs, you need regular numbers, not one report a year.
One-off or continuous: a quick comparison
- Best for. A one-off report suits a first look, a baseline or a decision. Continuous tracking suits follow-up, trends and KPIs.
- What you get. A one-off report gives you a snapshot of one moment, with findings and actions. Tracking gives you regular numbers over time.
- Commitment. A one-off report has a fixed price and no commitment. Tracking is ongoing.
- Change over time. A one-off report shows change only if you repeat it. Tracking shows change as it happens.
- Typical next step. After a one-off report, you fix the gaps, then measure again or start tracking. With tracking, you act on changes as they appear.
Most companies do not need to choose one forever. A common path is a one-off report first, then tracking once you start fixing things.
Who can help
Avisible offers both: a one-off Snapshot or Audit, and continuous tracking on the Avisible platform. You can start with a report and move to the tool later, or use only one of them.
Visibility Snapshot, €499, one-off
100 buyer questions, asked three times in ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, which gives 900 AI queries. It shows where AI finds your company, what it says about you and which sources it reads. Delivered in three working days. No subscription.
Visibility Audit, one-off deep dive
200+ buyer questions built for your category and approved by you, across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Perplexity and Google AI. It includes competitor benchmarking, source mapping, site analysis and a prioritised 90-day action plan. Four weeks end to end, about four hours of your time. Typically €5,000–25,000.
Avisible platform, continuous tracking
Avisible’s AI visibility platform tracks your buyer questions on a regular schedule. It shows the share of answers that name your brand, by topic, and which competitor is named most in each question.
So if you are looking for an affordable AI visibility audit for a small business, the Snapshot is the simplest way in. If you already know AI visibility matters and you want to follow it, the Avisible tool gives you the regular view. Avisible is both a service and an AI visibility tool, so the report and the tracking use the same method and can be compared.
Method in brief
The figures in this article come from Avisible’s client measurements from October 2025 to September 2026. Each Snapshot asks 100 buyer questions three times in three AI systems (900 AI queries). Results are reported with their base, for example “in 94 of 95 questions”. AI answers vary from round to round, so individual figures describe the measured sample. Client names are not shown.
